THROWBACK THURSDAY: Some of you may have heard of this new American tradition and may even be participating. I can’t think of a better venue than the Maple Hill page. I’ll begin but I’m hoping that the Maple Hill page participants will continue the tradition week to week.
Okay, here’s my contribution this week. This picture was taken in spring 1945, in front of the Maple Hill Central Office. The subject of the photograph is surrounded by three close relatives. Both the photo and the subject are going to be 70 years old soon. The owner lived in Maple Hill from November 1944 until August 1978 and has lived in other states since—never loosing his love for Maple Hill. Two of these ladies spent their entire life in Maple Hill while the third (on the left) still lives in the Denison/Mayetta area of Jackson County, Kansas.
