Its fun to look at this photograph from 1910, and determine which houses built then are still “alive and well” in Maple Hill. I can tell you now that none of the buildings shown on the west side of Main Street are still standing. They were all burned or torn down at one time or another. The large two-story Maple Hill Grade School at the southwest (left edge) of the photograph was torn down in 1953 and replaced by the new brick grade school building. But there are several others shown in the photograph that are still standing and in use. Love to hear your comments if you or a family member has ever lived in one of these homes.
